  • How are T-Levels different?


    It is the unique mixture of classroom learning and on-the-job experience that makes T-Levels special.

    80% of your time will be spent in the classroom with 20% on work-based placements.

    Placements can be block, day release or a mix of these.

  • What level is the qualification?

    These are Level 3 programmes which follow on from GCSEs.

    One T-Level is the equivalent to three A-Levels.

  • What qualification will I get?

    You will get a nationally recognised certificate showing an overall grade of pass, merit or distinction.

  • Will Universities accept T-Levels?

    Yes over 140 higher education providers will accept T-Levels. You can find the most up-to-date list of providers on .

  • How can I progress?

    T-Levels can lead to skilled employment, further study or higher apprenticeships.

    As they have been allocated UCAS tariff points, they can also provide entry to university.

  • What happens if I’m not quite ready for a T-Level or I don’t get the required grades?

    If you are not quite ready to enter directly on to a T-Level after GCSEs, or don’t get the grades you were expecting, then don’t worry. A tailored transition year will be available, designed to help you gain the necessary knowledge, skills and qualifications to progress on to your chosen T-Level. This option will be discussed with you at your interview.

North East Institute of Technology

As the lead for the North East Institute of Technology, we invested £8million in our Institute of Technology Centre to provide you with world-class facilities for studying STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects in the Institute of Technology. 

continues to deliver industry standard teaching by investing to improve facilities to meet the needs of the local and regional economy. We invested a further £1million in the space to provide you with the most up-to-date building information modelling (BIM) equipment and manufacturing robotics technology.

The purpose-built centre houses the following facilities for our T-Level students:

  • Mitsubishi robotic arms
  • STEM classrooms
  • Virtual reality active wall studio

Technical & Higher Education Hub (T.H.E. Hub)

The new £11million facility, T.H.E. Hub, brings our T-Levels subjects to life in the most cutting edge learning environments.

Our exciting immersive suite will allow T-Level students to be transported into real-life environments and situations to add new dimensions to learning.
