The college's Business Development Unit secures a wide range of funding to deliver raining, vocational skills and employment opportunities to employers, employees and the unemployed.

Teuropean social fundhe funding secured by the college's Business Development Unit  funding helps support unemployed individuals gain new skills and update existing skills to progress into their chosen career path. They receive intensive information, advice and guidance on training programmes and career opportunities supported by an experienced mentor throughout their journey.

We work in collaboration with employers to identify their training needs to upskill their workforce allowing them to compete more effectively in today’s ever-changing environment.

To achieve these outcomes, we work in partnership with a number of sub-contractors covering a variety of occupational sectors including manufacturing, health and social care, retail warehousing and logistics. The Unit works closely with key stakeholders including Education and Skills Funding Agency, Job Centre Plus, local authorities and Local Enterprise Partnerships across the North East and Tees Valley.

currently hold the following ESF funded projects within the NE region: Skills Support for the Workforce, Tees Works, Ambition Tees, North East Achieves, Community Works and Skills Guru.
